The 30-share Sensex ended 256.22 points up at 82445.21, while the 50-share Nifty index closed 100.16 points up at 25103.2.
In the Nifty 50 index, 39 stocks ended in the green, while 11 stocks closed in the red.
Meanwhile, stocks such as Ajcon Global, Indef Manufacturing, Reliable Ventures India, Hybrid Financial Services and OCCL Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week high, while Integrated Hitech Ltd., Tirth Plastic Ltd., Archana Software, Nutricircle and Krishna Vent touched their new 52-week low in today’s trade.
