Stock Market Sectors: Stock market update: Mining stocks up as market rises


NEW DELHI: Mining shares closed higher in the Thursday’s session.

MOIL Ltd.(up 3.87%), NMDC Ltd.(up 2.22%), Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores Ltd.(up 2.03%), Lexus Granito(India)Ltd.(up 1.20%), Aro Granite Industries Ltd.(up 1.13%), The Orissa Minerals Development Company Ltd.(up 0.86%), Coal India Ltd.(up 0.62%) and Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd.(up 0.31%) stood among the top gainers.

Oriental Trimex Ltd.(down 5.04%), Madhav Marbles & Granites Ltd.(down 3.60%), Pokarna Ltd.(down 2.19%), 20 Microns Ltd.(down 0.57%), Ashapura Minechem Ltd.(down 0.44%) and KIOCL Ltd.(down 0.23%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 304.25 points up at 25549.0, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 1000.36 points at 83755.87.

Shriram Finance Ltd.(up 4.17%), Jio Financial Services Ltd.(up 3.04%), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(up 2.67%), Tata Steel Ltd.(up 2.66%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.(up 2.6%), Bajaj Finance Ltd.(up 2.54%), Bharti Airtel Ltd.(up 2.48%), Eternal Ltd.(up 2.45%), Adani Enterprises Ltd.(up 2.34%) and HDFC Bank Ltd.(up 2.11%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.5%), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 0.87%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 0.54%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(down 0.41%), State Bank of India(down 0.38%), Wipro Ltd.(down 0.34%), Trent Ltd.(down 0.29%) and Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 0.09%) closed in the red.
