Stock Market Sectors: Stock market update: Mining stocks down as market rises


NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading lower on Wednesday at 10:47AM

Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores Ltd.(up 4.33%), Madhav Marbles & Granites Ltd.(up 3.56%), Oriental Trimex Ltd.(up 1.26%), Pokarna Ltd.(up 0.76%), MOIL Ltd.(up 0.67%) and KIOCL Ltd.(up 0.61%) were among the top gainers.

Lexus Granito(India)Ltd.(down 5.39%), Aro Granite Industries Ltd.(down 2.16%), Ashapura Minechem Ltd.(down 1.54%), NMDC Ltd.(down 1.09%), Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd.(down 0.63%), The Orissa Minerals Development Company Ltd.(down 0.50%), Coal India Ltd.(down 0.25%) and 20 Microns Ltd.(down 0.22%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 58.05 points up at 24600.55, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 189.31 points at 80926.82 at around 10:47AM.

Shriram Finance Ltd.(up 1.56%), Bharti Airtel Ltd.(up 1.46%), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 1.21%), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(up 0.95%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 0.95%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(up 0.94%), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(up 0.94%), Tata Motors Ltd.(up 0.92%), HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 0.78%) and Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(up 0.72%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Trent Ltd.(down 0.9%), NTPC Ltd.(down 0.64%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(down 0.58%), Titan Company Ltd.(down 0.48%), Asian Paints Ltd.(down 0.46%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(down 0.46%), Axis Bank Ltd.(down 0.39%), ICICI Bank Ltd.(down 0.37%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 0.36%) and Bharat Electronics Ltd.(down 0.3%) were trading in the red.
