The S&P 500 and Nasdaq opened near record levels on Wednesday, as a cooler-than-expected inflation report calmed concerns around tariff-driven price pressures and fanned expectations for interest rate cuts.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 16.0 points, or 0.04%, at the open to 42,882.86. The S&P 500 rose 10.6 points, or 0.18%, at the open to 6,049.38, while the Nasdaq Composite rose 64.4 points, or 0.33%, to 19,779.355 at the opening bell.
