Indices: Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.08%


NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a positive note on Wednesday.

Shares of Gland Pharma Ltd.(up 2.3 per cent), Divi’s Laboratories Ltd.(up 1.35 per cent), Granules India Ltd.(up 1.13 per cent), Ajanta Pharma Ltd.(up 1.07 per cent) and Laurus Labs Ltd.(up 0.61 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Alkem Laboratories Ltd.(down 2.57 per cent), Lupin Ltd.(down 0.52 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma Ltd.(down 0.45 per cent), Natco Pharma Ltd.(down 0.37 per cent) and Ipca Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.3 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.08 per cent up at 21371.7.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 77.71 points at 24620.2, while the BSE Sensex stood up 260.74 points at 80998.25.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 32 ended in the green, while 18 closed in the red. Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Reliance Power, Aditya Birla Retail and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE. Shares of Reliance Infra, Natural Capsule, Camlin Fine Sc, Steel Cast and Shree Global hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Aditya Birla Retail, Lasa Supergenerics, Godha Cabcon & Insul, Navkar Builders and Prostarm Info System hit their fresh 52-week lows.
