Indices: Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.22% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded negative around 10:09AM(IST)on Thursday in an upbeat market.

MphasiS Ltd.(up 0.35 per cent), HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 0.25 per cent) and Wipro Ltd.(up 0.25 per cent) were among the top gainers.

LTIMindtree Ltd.(down 1.16 per cent), Persistent Systems Ltd.(down 0.73 per cent), Oracle Financial Services Software Ltd.(down 0.63 per cent), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 0.32 per cent) and Coforge Ltd.(down 0.3 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty IT index was down 0.22 per cent at 38960.75 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 157.1 points at 25401.85, while the BSE Sensex was up 507.82 points at 83263.33.


Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 38 were trading in the green, while 12 were in the red. Shares of Vodafone Idea, RattanIndia Power, Alok Industries, Suzlon Energy and JP Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Ishan Dyes Chem, Prabha Energy, Indosolar Ltd, Sumeet Ind and Gabriel India hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Sadhana Nitro, Globale Tessile, Twentyfirst Cent, Uma Exports and Protean eGov Techno hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
