Indices: Stock market update: Nifty IT index advances 0.08% in a weak market


NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded positive around 10:04AM(IST)on Tuesday in a weak market.

LTIMindtree Ltd.(up 0.94 per cent), Persistent Systems Ltd.(up 0.4 per cent), Wipro Ltd.(up 0.31 per cent), HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 0.25 per cent) and Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 0.15 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Infosys Ltd.(down 0.2 per cent) and MphasiS Ltd.(down 0.2 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty IT index was up 0.08 per cent at 39104.65 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 91.55 points at 24854.95, while the BSE Sensex was down 294.21 points at 81501.94.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 12 were trading in the green, while 38 were in the red. Shares of Vishal Mega Mart, Vodafone Idea, RattanIndia Power, Zee Ent. and JP Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Federal Mogul, Subros, Lumax Auto Tech, Niraj Ispat Ind. and AXISCADES Engg Tech hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Navkar Builders, Sadhana Nitro, Regency Ceramic, Shree Ram Proteins and Bluspring Enterprises Ltd. hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
