Indices: Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.38% in a weak market


NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded negative around 11:02AM(IST)on Tuesday in a weak market.

Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 1.1 per cent), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(up 1.01 per cent) and Federal Bank Ltd.(up 0.35 per cent) were among the top gainers.

ICICI Bank Ltd.(down 1.04 per cent), Punjab National Bank(down 0.8 per cent), IDFC First Bank Ltd.(down 0.63 per cent), Bank of Baroda(down 0.63 per cent) and HDFC Bank Ltd.(down 0.58 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Bank index was down 0.38 per cent at 56622.85 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 10.6 points at 25113.8, while the BSE Sensex was down 54.97 points at 82390.24.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 29 were trading in the green, while 21 were in the red. Shares of Reliance Power, Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy, JP Power and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Hybrid Financial Services, Creative Eye, Laxmi Goldorna House, Vesuvius India and Reliance Power hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while BSL Ltd, Shree Ram Proteins, Digjam, Lasa Supergenerics and Lakshmi Precis hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
