Indices: Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.11% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded negative around 10:04AM(IST)on Wednesday in an upbeat market.

IndusInd Bank Ltd.(up 0.6 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 0.39 per cent), Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(up 0.23 per cent) and HDFC Bank Ltd.(up 0.13 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Federal Bank Ltd.(down 1.46 per cent), IDFC First Bank Ltd.(down 0.6 per cent), Canara Bank(down 0.49 per cent), ICICI Bank Ltd.(down 0.39 per cent) and Punjab National Bank(down 0.36 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Bank index was down 0.11 per cent at 55539.45 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 44.55 points at 24587.05, while the BSE Sensex was up 140.78 points at 80878.29.


Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 30 were trading in the green, while 20 were in the red. Shares of Aditya Birla Retail, Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Reliance Power and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Natural Capsule, GRSE, AstraZeneca, Shree Vasu Logistics and Shree Global hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Aditya Birla Retail, Rajnandini Metal, Prostarm Info System, Godha Cabcon & Insul and Noida Toll Bridge Co hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
