Bharat Forge Ltd.(up 0.94 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 0.57 per cent), Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(up 0.54 per cent), Bosch Ltd.(up 0.49 per cent) and Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 0.36 per cent) were among the top gainers.
MRF Ltd.(down 1.57 per cent), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(down 1.21 per cent), Eicher Motors Ltd.(down 0.56 per cent), Tata Motors Ltd.(down 0.43 per cent) and TVS Motor Company Ltd.(down 0.35 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Auto index was down 0.11 per cent at 23301.45 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 85.65 points at 24630.95, while the BSE Sensex was down 327.92 points at 81045.83.
