Unlike China, where many enterprises are state-owned and subject to central government control, India has a more market-friendly environment. For example, Matt Orton highlights ICICI Bank compared to a PSU like SBI in terms of loan growth, asset quality, and credit mix. Private banks in India are currently a much more attractive place to be, according to Matt Orton.
