Shares of Abbott India Ltd.(up 4.35 per cent), Laurus Labs Ltd.(up 1.56 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 0.87 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences Ltd.(up 0.74 per cent) and Gland Pharma Ltd.(up 0.68 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, J B Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 2.5 per cent), Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.5 per cent), Ipca Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.98 per cent), Natco Pharma Ltd.(down 0.88 per cent) and Ajanta Pharma Ltd.(down 0.65 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.02 per cent up at 21808.2.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 304.25 points at 25549.0, while the BSE Sensex stood up 1000.36 points at 83755.87.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 42 ended in the green, while 8 closed in the red. Shares of Vodafone Idea, Alok Industries, RattanIndia Power, YES Bank and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE. Shares of Ishan Dyes Chem, Lumax Auto Tech, Prabha Energy, Nuvama Wealth Mgmt and Indosolar Ltd hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Sadhana Nitro, Osia Hyper Retail, Uma Exports, Twentyfirst Cent and Gensol Engg hit their fresh 52-week lows.
