Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(up 0.83 per cent), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 0.83 per cent), TVS Motor Company Ltd.(up 0.81 per cent), Tube Investments of India Ltd.(up 0.73 per cent) and Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 0.68 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Tata Motors Ltd.(down 4.38 per cent), Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(down 1.18 per cent), Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(down 1.0 per cent), Exide Industries Ltd.(down 0.84 per cent) and Ashok Leyland Ltd.(down 0.55 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Auto index was down 0.28 per cent at 23262.85 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 125.46 points at 24844.05, while the BSE Sensex was up 425.01 points at 81543.61.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 38 were trading in the green, while 12 were in the red. Shares of Vodafone Idea, Reliance Power, RattanIndia Power, YES Bank and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Raj Oil Mills, Camlin Fine Sc, Belrise Industries, Niraj Ispat Ind. and Reliance Naval & Engg hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Shree Ram Proteins, Omkar Speciality, Varanium Cloud, ARSS Infra and Sadhana Nitro hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
