Shares of Bosch Ltd.(up 2.21 per cent), TVS Motor Company Ltd.(up 2.03 per cent), Tube Investments of India Ltd.(up 1.75 per cent), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(up 0.99 per cent) and Bharat Forge Ltd.(up 0.94 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Tata Motors Ltd.(down 3.57 per cent), MRF Ltd.(down 1.08 per cent), Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(down 0.54 per cent), Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(down 0.23 per cent) and Exide Industries Ltd.(down 0.15 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.18 per cent up at 23368.25.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 227.91 points at 24946.5, while the BSE Sensex stood up 677.55 points at 81796.15.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 46 ended in the green, while 4 closed in the red. Shares of Vodafone Idea, Reliance Power, YES Bank, RattanIndia Power and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE. Shares of Subros, Laxmi Goldorna House, OneSource Specialty, Capital India Fin and GRM Overseas hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Shree Ram Proteins, Navkar Builders, Varanium Cloud, Sadhana Nitro and Bluspring Enterprises Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week lows.
