Indices: Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.01% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded negative around 10:53AM(IST)on Thursday in an upbeat market.

HDFC Bank Ltd.(up 0.76 per cent), Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(up 0.76 per cent), Axis Bank Ltd.(up 0.66 per cent) and ICICI Bank Ltd.(up 0.09 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Federal Bank Ltd.(down 1.89 per cent), Canara Bank(down 1.33 per cent), Bank of Baroda(down 1.25 per cent), State Bank of India(down 0.82 per cent) and Punjab National Bank(down 0.56 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Bank index was down 0.01 per cent at 56616.35 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 82.71 points at 25327.45, while the BSE Sensex was up 300.28 points at 83055.79.


Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 32 were trading in the green, while 18 were in the red. Shares of Vodafone Idea, Alok Industries, RattanIndia Power, Suzlon Energy and JP Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Ishan Dyes Chem, Prabha Energy, Indosolar Ltd, Sumeet Ind and Nuvama Wealth Mgmt hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Sadhana Nitro, Globale Tessile, Gensol Engg, Twentyfirst Cent and Osia Hyper Retail hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
