The NSE Nifty index was trading 80.25 points down at 24866.25, while BSE Sensex was down 273.34 points at 81522.81 at the time of writing this report.
In the Nifty index, Asian Paints Ltd.(up 1.31 per cent), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.(up 0.61 per cent), State Bank of India(up 0.52 per cent), Bharat Electronics Ltd.(up 0.51 per cent) and NTPC Ltd.(up 0.44 per cent) were among the top gainers.
While Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(down 1.90 per cent), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(down 1.30 per cent), Tata Motors Ltd.(down 1.25 per cent), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 1.02 per cent) and Titan Company Ltd.(down 0.95 per cent) were among the top losers in the index.
