HDFC Bank Ltd.(up 0.7 per cent), ICICI Bank Ltd.(up 0.35 per cent) and Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 0.18 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(down 1.05 per cent), Federal Bank Ltd.(down 1.04 per cent), Bank of Baroda(down 0.82 per cent), IDFC First Bank Ltd.(down 0.64 per cent) and Axis Bank Ltd.(down 0.52 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Bank index was up 0.1 per cent at 55733.05 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 106.71 points at 24726.9, while the BSE Sensex was up 345.77 points at 81344.02.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 32 were trading in the green, while 18 were in the red. Shares of Reliance Power, Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy, YES Bank and Eternal were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of NDR Auto Components, Welspun Investments, Belrise Industries, Ginni Filaments and Welspun Corp hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Navkar Builders, Axita Cotton, Noida Toll Bridge Co, Shyam Century Ferrous and Nagarjuna Fertilizer hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
